I had a great time up there! The show was pretty weak as far as participation. Seems like they always pack the place out, but there was plenty of room and probably 1/3 of the people and vendors left by early afternoon. Some folks said it was the recent storms that hurt attendance. Either way, I had a great time.
I picked up lots of great parts. Most notable are the new P/C I got for $90 for 85.5! I couldn't pass them up, even though I didn't immediately need them. WAAHOO! I also found a 3 rib transmission, new boots for the CVs, new bearings for the bus, and a shift kit, since I'll have it all apart. I also got some sheet metal pieces for some rusty spots on the bus. The second biggest score was a used, but not torn, pop-top canvas for a late bay that I got for a song.
I also bought some parts for the giveaway motor for BP14 to help get that started! Hopefully we won't be doing that at the last minute again...
They had some hokey pro wrestling on Saturday night. It was worth about what I paid for it. Luckily I didn't pay for it... none-the-less it was entertaining it was soooo bad.
Camping as always was a good time. You just think that chain link fence keeps people from sneaking in... well on Sunday mornings, you can watch the prisoners take their 1 hour yard break on the other side of that fence. Kind of a spooky realization after you've slept there for 2 nights, but then I got to thinking: how much would it suck to hear everyone having a good time at the fair grounds while you're in the slammer! All prisons should be built next to the fair grounds!
