Chattanooga VW drag day

Has there ever been any discussion of a drag day event here in Chatanooga??? I think it would go over quite well, I think it cuold draw a bigger crown then the bug-a-paluza. I mean dont get me wrong I loved the show this year and every year before, but I think a drag day/show would go over great. What are others thoughts on this???

I know a couple of folks have talked to the owners of the Drag Strip in the past and they were somewhat less than not even slightly interested in a VW event. :roll: But things change with time . . . they might be open to it if someone approached them again.

Nice Buggy,definetly looks to have serious drag potential. Instead of asking for a car length ask for sand :twisted:

Which track would you be talking about Zen? It seems I did some looking awhile back and there is one right near you, but I don't think we ever really investigated it.

Bug-A-Puluza is an awesome show and I don't think a race show would ever approach it. Since you will have a gate fee at the racetrack, vs not one at a reg show. Although I would love to see one near your area, just becuase we have one in Ga, NC and VA and we hope to be in Fl in 2007. But as the Volksfolks know, it takes a lot of planning, sponsors and money to get something goin.

Our main reason for not hosting or having a drag event is the insurance. If the words "drag race" is even mentioned, our insurance company starts having chest pains and looking for the nearest hospital. :lol:

jeremy want some ugly pics of your bug i was the owner 2 owners a go when it was camo preaty solid car u got a deal in it wish i had it back but david forgot me when he sold it go to galory to pics of green ghia and then to the black and gold buggy and the baha in the back is the one u now have

Understand that! We are looking into something that we will be able to use at all of our events. Currently, the track provides the insurance.

Maybe something can occur in the future, you never know.

tell the insurence youll get waivers signed

and post a few people to keep onlookers from getting runover in the pits or in the staging lanes all drivers have to sign them just to race at the track

Hey... where there is a will there is a way, If we get enough people that want this then we could make it happen.
