I heard the same comment from a bunch of folks. In the past, I had heard a lot of people say one of the things they liked about our show was it was in the grass, and not on a paved parking lot. If things work out like it's looking like they will, next year we will have full control of the parking lot AND the field to set it up any way we need to. Our show committee chairman, Herb, has already been in touch with the folks at Camp Jordan and they are double checking with the Soccer and Softball people to make sure they don't already have something penciled in for the weekend of April 20-23, 2007. If they don't already have something planned, we'll have Camp Jordan to ourselves!
This will give us some much needed breathing room. We can open up the whole field to camping and have all the show cars and vendors on pavement, or we can have some cars on the pavement and some in the grass . . . we can let motorhomes camp with the tent campers . . . the possibilities are unlimited!
The rain and mud may have been a blessing in disguise! Had the weather been perfect, I'm sure we would have had more campers and more show cars and possibly more vendors . . . I don't know if we would have been able to cram them in the field or not! If we had gotten them all in, it would have been cramped!
