just registered... looking forward to another great year. My parents are actually flying down from Vermont to see what the fuss is all about. They were due a trip down our way to visit and we made sure it would be during the same weekend/weekend as BAP.

Oh Good !!  A new shirt.  The old one is getting hard to read with all the Musket Ball holes in it.  Just remember if you start hearing Banjo music the closer you get to East Ridge get out and cover your tag with Kudzu vines and duck down. Practice the word " Y'all"

how is the show parking looking, last year we were parking in non designated areas and the judges missed a couple cars. I have been coming to this show for 5-6 or six years now.  I was really happy that we moved to the parking areas, except for the lack of organization/viewing ease.  This year my StateWide GTG place has fallen through due to some construction and I was contemplating bringing my GTG here.  Usually I bring 15-20 WaterCoolers to the weekend event.  If the statewide comes here, it will be 100+ cars.  Our last 2 statewide meets have been 115 and 137 cars.  So.. Just trying to find out how much room there actually is... I think I can get most people to pre-register, not promising anything b/c most of the time I dont even get them to tell me weather or not they are coming out for a GTG, far less a show.

Thanks for your time, looking forward to BPX

What has happened in previous years is that alot of water cooled cars squeak in at the last minute on sunday.  We never know how many are coming and it sends our registration and judges into a mad rush to get things completed before awards.  We have moved our registration cut off an hour earlier this year in order to help fix this problem.  Being in a parking lot setting the lines of the parking lot are the show car slots which is about 275+slots.  When those run out then we have to get creative.  We are unaware of ever missing a car to be judged.  We usually cross refrence our judged cars with our registered cars and catch any we may have missed before tallying the scores.

Not calling anyone "out" or anything like that, I know that alot of our guys definitely pushed the cut off time, so like I told them last year I'll tell them again, cut off time is it, you need to be there way before so you are in a spot and have your car ready if your in..  But what I need to know is if you can handle a guaranteed influx.. I know you can never handle something you dont know about, but we are trying to piggyback to BPX and regardless I will be there with the usual numbers, but if I bring the whole forum, we could have a small issue..

If we can handle pulling a show out of the mud 2 years ago we can handle extra cars they just have to be willing to park where we need to park them.
I'm not sure what you mean exactly by piggybacking our show, but if you are refering to having your own show while using ours as your location and setup, I don't think the club would be interested in that type of situation.

No, no, not two shows in one, I just mean that Our Statewide GTG is usually an event of its own, just a hangout and whatever, But our place got moved due to construction and in such a short noticed we thought we would just have a GTG weekend and all come to a chosen show.  Since I have been badgering people to come for years to BP we decided that this would be a great place to have it..  Alot of our group likes to camp, we have 3-4 organized camping weekends per year.  So BP show fits us very well.. I just did not want to surprise the staff with a large influx of cars.  I have told everyone time and again that they NEED to preregister, so you should get a decent idea of who is coming.  Thanks again, looking forward to another great show.

Bringing that many cars would be great, but a handful for the club.  I am *NOT* a member of Scenic City, so speak the following opinion only for myself: Please, please please....if you think that many members of your club will be showing rather than spectating, it may be better if they get there Saturday or super early Sunday morning.  If you are talking about 30, 50 or more members who dont show up until later Sunday morning, not only is it difficult for  Scenic City, but it also robs the spectators of what they are there for, and that is to enjoy looking at the cars, talking to the owners, etc.   That is a good portion of what this show has always been about, IMO.

Please encourage your club members to be respectful by showing up early, and maybe participate in some of the fun the event coodinators worked so hard to put together, as well as the spirit of the show itself.

We set it up for Saturday, those who want to stay for sunday are encouraged to do so.. Anyone planning to show WILL be PreRegistering, so the staff should have a fairly good idea for event parking..  Thanks again for having such a great show, I have always enjoyed this show, the atmosphere is 2nd to none.   thanks again.
