Hey Coastie, '70 is a good year model. If the engine is orginal it should be  a single port 1600cc. I would ask about history on the engine/ tranny. It really looks good. Price maybe a little on the high side but it looks excellent looking at the pics.

My wife says, I have Beetle mania. Guilty! I think it is catching because she said she thinks it would be a good idea to get a VW Camper to go to VW events  ... I better come shopping before she changes her mind. (If momma ain't happy, nobody is happy!)

The camper was sold but I made a deal on this one http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=432443 before she changed her mind. Mechanically it seem sound and the paint and body is excellent. I have work to do on the inside but other than the headliner I think I can do it myself. I will be shopping for interior parts for it now. I will be having the '75 Beetle "on order" painted the same yellow.javascript:emoticon(':D')

We will be coming down around 6 PM on Saturday now. We will either camp in our Bus or tent camp. What is the SCVF shower trailer that I read will be at Bug-A-Paluza? Is there a picture on this site?

Sweet!  Another bus owner!  I have a '78 and a '79.  Just yell if you need anything.  I don't have a whole lot of spare parts, but I do have a lot of experience with these late bay(by)s.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...buses are great!

Camp Jordon doesn't have shower facilities . . . and by the time we've camped all weekend, that becomes a problem for some of us, so a few years ago we were looking into portable showers and, as a JOKE, I said, "We could always convert the old Westie we used for the paint-a-bus into a shower."  Our current president, Kyle, didn't know I was joking . . . and the bus was at his house, so a few days later . . .

The B.U.S. has a large hot water heater sitting where the passenger seat used to be, a shower in the middle under the pop top and a dry "changing room" in the back.

i forgot about the shower bus! I may just shower there in the morning (even though my house is only 5 miles away  )... at least it's not supposed to be freezing next weekend! I thought it wouldn't be this cold by the time i moved up here! I wasn't prepared for this!

It's that time of yrear again.

Wife and I will be heading up in a few hours.  Only showing one car this year, going to take it easy and relax a bit this time.

Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for putting this on, I'm sure it will be fantastic as always. :D
