So I'd really like to camp for this one too, anyone wanna find a campground nearby? There's no camping on the show grounds.

Point Mallard is close . . . about 4 or 5 miles away.  It's a nice campground, but they don't (at least the didn't in the past) take reservations.

Yeah I was just checking out their website. They do accept reservations most of the time, but curiously not in May, June, or July. But they have 233 full hookup sites and free wifi! It's $24.36 a night. I've never stayed at Point Mallard. Anyone else want to go up Friday and camp?

We are hoping to make the journey. As time gets closer we will see about caravanning.

Show report! We had a good trip. Randall and I met up around noon on Friday and drove down to Decatur. Our first stop was Point Mallard, where we checked in and set up our campsite. Then we went into Decatur to eat and catch a movie. Matthew was on his way back from Memphis and met up with us in Decatur, and we all went back to camp together. The mosquitoes were awful! We attempted to deter them with a citronella candle, which had no effect. Then we set up a small fan to blow on us but even that was no match. Lastly we started a fire in the pit hoping the smoke would keep them away, but it also did no good. Finally we called it quits and went to our tents.

Saturday morning we got up, packed, and headed to Jack's for breakfast. After that we entered Ingall's Harbor for the show. I entered my bus and we set up our EZ-ups towards the back for some shade.

The show was decent, probably 70-ish cars and maybe 15-20 vendors. I know Matthew picked up a few goodies for his Beetle while we were there. The engine blow was at 3 PM, I believe it lasted 4 minutes and 4 seconds. After that, the awards were announced and we headed home. As far as I know, no one else from the club made to the show.
