 We almost missed the rain Saturday morning. We hit it about 6 miles south of the show site. And to be out of the direct sun and no heat from asphalt raising the temperatures was truly nice. This is a definite show to do. You can get a lot of bug, buses, ghia's etc under that pavillion. Even if it gets full, there is GRASS to set the car up on and to set up your own canopy etc.

I am talking about the show that the North Alabama Volkswagen Club put on at Point Mallard in Decatur, Alabama on July 22-23, 2006. Same weekend that the Knoxville show was suddenly brought to life again.

No John , Albert De Allison is not there yet.  Right now it looks like some of the SUV's on the streets of Iraq. This critter had 2 complete wiring harness's,all of them ragged, spliced, twisted, duct taped etc. The  2 brake light switches had at least 5-7 wires connected to each switch. I've got enough wire to wire up a 747. He will be just fine when I get all the "warts" repaired and at least not looking like he was rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk.  No wine before its time

The Melt down is like that...wish they were all like this... Hint Hint Zen...

Believe me, we've been looking!  We haven't found anything anywhere around here that's big enough and affordable . . . but we're keeping our eyes and ears opened!  Bug-A-Paluza 9 will be at Camp Jordan, but prospects are good that we will start out with full control of all of the asphalt instead of having to move there after the show starts.

The feedback did seem postive from BP8 of being able to display on the asphalt. The main difference in that and some of the other shows is that BP is not entirely on asphalt, thus cooler for all involved. Having the entire parking lot area would be great. Set the car & display on the asphalt and your canopy right behind. No dust, no crowded conditions and you can use your canopy without having to buy a space for that purpose. A win-win situation for all involved

I don't think we're ever going to find a location as good as camp jordon. It's right off of the interstate. Mabey we could just get them to cover the whole field with a roof. Just think that would mean no more mud.

i thin it would actually be nice to have the show on the grass... weather permitting... Bug Jam is on grass, as is toccoa and the orlando show for that matter... and those are the three i normally go to, go figure... but i have never had a problem at any of those... it just seems that it rains a LOT in chattanooga... actually come to think of it... out of all the shows I have gone to this year, the alabama show and the lokey vw show (at the dealer) are the only shows that have been on something other than grass... i suppose as long as you bring a canopy it's ok, but asphault gets HOT
