Bug'n in July (Huntsville)

Bug'n in July 2006
Presented by the North Alabama Volkswagen Club
Huntsville, Alabama
July 22 and 23 2006

This event will be a two-day show for the first time! The one-day aspect was one of the most-commented points of the past show(s); this will give those traveling from out-of-state (hint) a full weekend to enjoy the fruits of their travel efforts; it also gives a second chance for those who had plans one of the two days but still wished to attend.

And we hope to see it again this year! Had a
show-planning meeting last night, and everybody had
plans for BAP as well lol...Hope our clubs get to see a
lot of each other, both this weekend and in July...

I saw a post on the Southeastern forum that the AVWA has just announced they are having a show in Knoxville that same weekend.  Guess that means I'll be missing the Knoxville show . . . I'll be in Huntsville!   :D

Thanks for choosing Bug'n   ...It's not
that I don't want more local shows (yes please!),
but that the schedule means we'll most likely not
see some TN folks; in addition, it means NONE of
our folks can hit Knoxville  :( ...We debated a lot
on this years date (I know, I was one of 'em!).
We specifically tried not to schedule against VW
shows we knew of (not always possible, I know).

When I first saw the post I though "Alright! Another show to attend!" . . . then I realized I can't be in two places at once.   :?  I've had the Huntsville show on my calendar for several months.  I'll see y'all in Huntsville!  8)

From the way SE Forums read, the show grounds is the same park where the show used to be held when Tom Underwood was doing it. Knoxville might be closer but I will have to turn my allegiance to Huntsville. The folks from down there really turn out to support us in our endeavors and I feel it only fair to support them. They have had their show scheduled since last years show. :?

Thanks for your support...As you know, it's
tough enough pulling a show together, without a
split in the VW family. Some of our family is on
the way (or maybe there already!). The rest of
us will be doing the NO RAIN! chant for you!

:D  :D  :D I will make this show for sure. Got all the show stuff out the other day that has been packed up since 2003. Good Lord I can't believe its has been that long! Did a little touching up on some of the items. Have to get the display sign changed from the 2332 to the 2276 on the engine size. Sent in my check for pre-registeration, got the motel room,  got the days off approved and found a good deal on another trailer. I am keeping this one. From what I have read about the show it is a great one and the park it is held in looks great.

:D I actually built something today to use on the display. We had small stands that sat on the ground to hold the framed articles of the car. I noticed folks having to squat down or bend over so far to read the articles and causing discomfort. I made up my mind after the last show (2003) that I would remedy this. So I put my feeble mind in gear and came up with an idea (took 2 weeks)

So for $27.00 spent at Home Depot on some flat and V channel aluminum and a stand frabricated at work, the people can view the items standing up and in comfort. I will post a pic later. The paint was still wet when I left. Now I have to rest for 3 days because I overworked my mind. And it even met the "Family Seal Of Approval"!!!  LOL Now if it passes the "Herb Seal Of Approval" I know I did something right!!

Dang Moe ! How many channels can you get ?  Reminds me of the radar antenna on a WW-2  German Mess. 110 night fighter. I guess you could call it "Coppers Dolpler".  Shame on me. I just slapped my ownselve.
