The Volks Folks are usually well represented at this show.  Last year we had 7 cars entered and all 7 took home trophies.  I was vending, but if I had entered Homer the Super Bus in their "Beater" class, I'm sure I could have made it 8!

We missed Buses on the River 'cause Joy ended up having to work, so I'm ready for a campout.  Anyone else want to go over early and camp Saturday night?

I had planned to go down on Saturday and stay the night with my sister and her family.  Their plans have changed, so I think that our plans have also changed...Linda is going to stay at home (I think!) so it is a toss-up between going down on Sunday, or going down on Saturday and camping.

I'll decide on it before Saturday, that's for sure!

The Volks Folks only had a few people attend this year, but just like last year, every one of us who entered the show walked away with a plaque.  Last year 7 Volks Folks cars entered and won 7 trophies. This year only 3 entered, but we walked away with 3 FIRST PLACE plaques!    8)

Brian and Amanda won the Dune Buggy class with their blue buggy, Jai won the New Beetle Custom class with Freaky Beetle (his 98 New Beetle Herbie), and Joy and I walked away the hands down winner of the Beater class . . . which was pretty easy since Homer was the only one in the class.  I've always said that Homer was in a class of his own!     Travis and Kevin also made the trip over in Oscar, but didn't enter the show.

The new location worked out great. It's about 30 to 45 minutes further away than in the past, but there is shade.  Lots of shade.  It was still hot, but not near as hot as it would have been without the shade!  They have room to expand, camping avalible, and shade . . . this show should continue to grow.   8)

We really hated to miss this show but other things kept us at home.  We are planning to go to Tacoa though.  Glad everyone won a trophy!   :)

Since there wasn't a second and third place trophy, I assumed I won by default.
