How about the red bodied conv. I belive this one is either a Rometch bodied Type-1 or a Beutler body.  The Rometch was imported to the U.S. in 1955 in small numbers but never caught on.  The Beutler body was built in Thun Switzerland in 1954 for VW, also in small numbers. I don't know if Rometch ever made a conv, but Beutler did. It could be the red conv. in the photo is a Beutler.  Man !! You talk about two extremely rare cars. Here they are if I'm correct on the IDs.   Sigh.  I would just about kill to go to the "FatherLand".  I'm like Charlton, not only to see VWs,but to see a lot of WW-2 sites. I could spend a lot of time there along with my Blond,Blue-Eyed Kraut Fraulein

I think its what you would call Vintage. 30-40 year old cars are not "newbys" now . I could be wrong about the SP seeing how many different  types of body styles showed up in the early days, but you can belive that Bad-Camberg is not going to let some Rice-Burner show. I might be wrong here, but belive that the SP showed up before the "Z" did. The first "Z" at least in the U.S. was the 1970 model 240z. Before that, Datsun imported 2 Miata size sport cars called " Blue Bird" and the "Fairlady" Correct me if I'm wrong. Could be Bad-Camberg adds a year to what they would call vintage. I certainly don't know.

Any word yet from Al?
Time is starting to fly by and even though I'm already saving I don't know if I need to save more in order to be sure I have enough when the time comes.

Okay, I haven't heard or seen any info on here about the Bad Camberg trip being organized so I am going to go ahead on my own and see if I can get some info. As soon as I do I'll post it.

I got a ballpark price for a 12 day Germany tour today. It is roughly $1500 per person (based on double occupancy) and can be modified to include a two or three day side trip to Bad Camberg for the show. That price does not include airfare which can't be reserved this far out but does include some meals, lodging and transport around the country. Is anyone interested?

Hi, I am Yves from Quebec, Canada and I would like a lot to go to Bad Camberg. Do you know about hotels close to exhibition field, cause I do not want to drive there. Which airport is the best to land ? Any idea about how to reserve Wolfsburgh museum entrances. I tried to write to name seen on the web : michael@lottermann-veteran-treffen.de   and message came back undelivered !!!
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Yves the french speaking...
