There is a show planned at the West Georiga Fair Grounds in Carrollton on May 21st, 2006. There is some information on the SEVWC forums about it.

I hope the "person in charge" of this event changes the name to something besides "Atlanta" Bug Fever Fix. West Georgia Bug Fever Fix/Carrollton Bug Fever Fix/Georgia Bug Fever Fix or how about Herrells Bug Fever Fix since Lindy is hosting the event.   Atlanta is about 50 miles away from the site!!

Just my humble opinion.

I doubt seriously I will get to come. There is no way I can get off for the day. The best I can do is hope to get by for a few minutes that after noon on the way to work. If I get to do that I will drive the 67 to work that night. I will call Herb on the cell and find out about where you folks are and swing in there.

Here are some directions I posted on the members only site.  There are  2 routes that will work coming from Tenn/N Ga. The first one is the one I would suggest. The first one is mainly 4 lane roadway and is easier to navigate. I hope I got the exit number right. At my age I forget stuff. Thank God breathing is an involuntary function!!!

1.Take I-75 to the Calhoun Exit (312) and get on Ga 53 traveling towards Rome. Ga 53 will dead end into US 27 and you will take a left traveling South on US 27 towards Cedartown.( From Rome to Carrollton is about 60 miles) When you come into Cedartown Ga, keep going straight on US27 through town. There is a truck route 27 at the new Wally World that bears off to the left. Straight through town is better in my opinion. If you do turn left on the 27 truck route just stay on that road and it will dead end into US27 again on the other side of Cedartown.

2. After passing under I-20 in Bremen go to the 3rd traffic light(10mi away) take a left. The 3rd light will be at the intersection of US27 and Linda Lane to the left (The way you want to go) and Columbia Drive to the right. There will be a Cowboys gas station ahead to your left.

3.Turn left on Linda Lane which is a divided 4 lane road. You will come to a traffic light at Ga 113, keep straight on the road. It turns into Northside Drive at this point.

4. At the next traffic light you will be at the intersection of Northside Drive and Shady Grove Road, keep bugging/busing straight.

5.At the next traffic light you will be at the intersection of Northside Drive and Ga 61/166 which is a divided 4 lane roadway. You will want to take a left at this light and go north on Ga 61/166. There is a long offset left turn lane for this light

6. You will pass a Longhorns Steak House, then a child care center and then a NAPA store and the entrance to the fairgrounds will be to your right just before the red light you see ahead.
*************************************************************
The other route you can take is to go on down I-75 to the Cartersville exit and take 411 to Ga113 to Ga 61. Take Ga 61 to Dallas and then to Villa Rica and then on to Carrollton. After going over I-20 in Villa Rica you will go about 15 miles to the 6th traffic light. When you go through this light be in the left lane. Take a left at the next crossover and you will then go back the other way and make a right into the fairgrounds.

*************************************************************

For you coming from Flowery Branch the best way is I-85 to I-20 West to the Villa Rica/ Carrollton Exit (GA 61)(Exit 23?). At the end of the ramp turn left and go southbound on Ga 61 to as I said above the 6th traffic light (about 14-15miles)at the intersection of Old Airport Road & Ga 61/166. After going through the light you should see the fair grounds entrance to your left on the northbound side. You will crossover to NB 61 and then right into the fair grounds

Hope this helps. If anyone needs to know anything about the area(places to eat, stay etc) call me and I will fill you in. Cell 770-639-9521 Home 770-574-8136

This discussion came up at last nights meeting. The plans are to meet at the Bi Lo in East ridge and leave at 7am. It's about a 2 hr drive down there. Several members are planning to go.

The guys in Carrollton always support our show so we need to return the favor. We need to get as many Volks Folks there as possible.
