21st Annual Channel 3 Share Your Christmas
"The holiday season will soon be upon us, and we at the Channel 3 Eyewitness News team are thinking about our neighbors in the Tennessee Valley. For the 21st year, Channel 3 Eyewitness News will host the Channel 3 Share Your Christmas Food Drive. This annual benefit lends a helping hand to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. On Wednesday, December 7, the Channel 3 Eyewitness News team will be collecting food and cash donations for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The site for this year is yet to be determined. We’ll be broadcasting live from the drop-off site throughout the day beginning at 5 a.m.! After we announce the site, we encourage you to drive-thru and drop off a cash or non-perishable donation to help those less fortunate during this season of giving. Join Channel 3 Eyewitness News for the 21st Annual Channel 3 Share Your Christmas Food Drive! Can't make the event? Beginning November 14, be sure to stop by any area Bi-Lo, Pruett's, or Greenlife Grocery Store to drop off your donation in one of our Channel 3 Share Your Christmas Food Drive barrels."
As most of you know, the Volks Folks have participated in this food drive every year since we organzied the club in 1998. We are usually the last group through at a few minutes after 6 pm . . . they used to interview one or two of us live on the 6:00 news, but they haven't for the past 2 or 3 years . . . maybe we can change that this year. At any rate, it's good exposure for the club and it's a good cause. Start saving up food to donate and we will organize a meeting place as soon as we find out where they are going to hold it this year.
