1890's Day Car Show (Ringgold, GA)

« on: May 15, 2006, 11:18:00 AM »
Saturday May 27th there will be an All Car Show at this years 1890's Day Festival in Ringgold, GA.  Once again it will be held at the First Baptist Church Parking lot.  NO ENTRY FEE!  This year the show will change from a top 25 to divided classes with trophies for the top 3 cars in each class.  From what I gather from Keith there will be a CLASSIC Imports Class for the VW's.   No, We won't be paired up with the Ricers or Buzz Bombs!  If you are interested, please see me (Brian) at the meeting tonight or call Keith Dempsey  @ (706)965-2161 to pre-register.  The car show is just a small part of a very eventful weekend.  Starting Friday night with Music, Games, Crafts and Food continuing into Saturday where there will also be the car show and parade.  \:D/

Don't forget about this weekend!  A little birdy told me that I was the only one registered in our class.  Don't let me take all 3 trophies home! I can see it now; First place goes to Brian Dempsey for his 64 VW Beetle  =D> ,  Second place goes to Brian Dempsey for his 79 VW Camper  =D> , Third place goes to Brian Dempsey for his 67 VW Split Window Bus  :-k .  I would hate for people to think it was rigged since my brother is in charge of it.

What time do you have to be there?  Our bus is out of commission now but maybe the orange bug might be able to make it down.   :)

Our bus is out of commission now

 :-k Hummmm . . . . let's see here . . . it's got a bad bearing in the alternator so you had to cut the belt . . . it doesn't charge . . . it still runs and it's a type 4 so it still cools with the belt off of it . . . it's got dual batteries . . . this is a daytime show . . .  :-k

I just don't see how that adds up to "out of commission!"  Charge it overnight and bring it on!  If I can make it to Taccoa stuck in 4th gear the last 150 miles and the engine locked up the last 5, surely y'all can make it Ringgold and back without an alternator!

We're bringing the orange bug.  Lamar started cleaning it up last night.  He has already started working on getting the alternator out so that we can get it fixed before Stevenson.  :)
