What are the odds?

« on: May 30, 2012, 05:12:24 PM »
A little mishap for my wife on her way home yesterday...  Mix little bit of lightning, a maple tree, and just the right timing - and you can kill a convertible!  She made it out fine, minus a little of her sanity, and we are waiting on insurance to see if/when we can go pick out another one.  The photos show that this "soft top" was tough!

Glad she's OK!  :o  Cars can be replaced.  My ex-brother-in-law was killed about 20 years ago when a tree fell right in front of his car.

Oh my goodness.  That was always my fear crossing Harrison Pike everyday to go to work in Cleveland that a tree would fall on me.  Glad she is ok...

Good heavens....

Glad she's okay...

It must be something about New Beetle convertibles...

Emma and I were driving up the mountain after a really nasty rain months ago, passed the space house, and were nearly to the A-Frame on the next hairpin corner when a HUGE tree dropped right in front of us.... we both just looked at each other, and I said, "Did that just happen???"

Under the tree was their (living in the A-frame) silver New Beetle 'vert.... It  disappeared for a while, but it appears that it got fixed.  It's back in the driveway now....

For God sakes, Be careful Cindy.  Isn't there a new kind of beetle out there eating up Ash tree ?   Maybe the trees are taking revenge but just picking on the wrong Beetle.

Well, we get to start looking for another one as soon as the insurance company finishes the paperwork.  One more smashed bug!

Insurance going to give you the option of buying back the shell?
You know the history on the engine and such, you could probably make some dough selling the parts to a Beetle owner who has blown an engine or trans or both...
Just saying.

Our new beetle made it to the house last night - without any tree attacks!
