I need to find my pics of my '73 Thing up to it's gonads pulling through mud and water on Mt Aetna when the car was new. I put that poor thing through hell and it never let me down for the 13 years I owned it.  It ended up running a 1850cc stroker, 041 heads, Zenith 2 barrel, a 046 ring/pinion, Desert Dog mudders.  That dang thing would go anywhere.  This Thing was the first Thing sold in Chatt. I was working at the dealer at the time and saw a pic of the car in a copy of  in-house magazine Weather Vane in 1968 . I ordered it right then and got the car in the spring of '73. They were still called Safari's then until Pontiac sued VW . I wish I still had it . Have fun Bro.
