If you've ever read the 'VW abortions' thread on TheSamba, you may recognize Snorkelstang as the very first post, the king of all abortions:

Well recently some exciting(?) developments have taken place, and the legendary Snorkelstang, once thought to have left this planet, http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=499401has been discovered resting in Huntsville, AL.

About seven pages in, new photos of Snorkelstang in his current state are revealed.

This would be an awesome car to have for BP14...just sayin'.

It is in Alabama. They have also a bunch of guys who are giving $100 each for someone to have a tattoo done. They have a taker for that deal.

The current owner of Snorkelstang is considering bringing the Almighty to BP14 in order to get help with installing the rear end. The plan is to then relay it across the country to California in order to get it to some shop that will get it running/restore it for the Classic! This could be pretty cool!!!

Snorkelstang's first show appearance in years will be this weekend at Bugapaluza!!!

We have confirmation of Snorky's attendance at BP14!!!

There will be a "Rear-end party" to get it back to a roller so that it can easily be put on and off trailers on its way to the Classic this summer. Bring out some fabricating tools to help mount up the rear-end!
