Here's what I heard in Idiotsville, TN this morning after I pulled up to put gas in the bug.
Verbatim quote, and I promise it's true:
-(insert your favorite southern hick accent here)- "Hey, man, I ain't never seed one uv dem what had dat engine in duh back ub 'em. Whaassat fer?"

I swear it's true. I didn't respond- I couldn't, I just looked at him with a lok of disbelief, put the cap back on my gas tank, and left.
Where do these people come from?

You'd think that after over 60 years, the guys would have at least SEEN a bug before. I mean, what the heck?!?! Was he under a rock or something for the past 60 years?!?!?!

To steal a quote from one of Clint Eastwoods movies, "Have you been freeze dried or doing hard time?"

Ignorance can be fixed............stupid is forever. :;):

I love that quote, Herb! I used it today several times during my classes.
I have yet to go back to that gas station. I seriously doubt that I will EVER go back- I'm kinda scared to, honestly. :)

Did you hear any banjo music playing anywhere close by? ?  If so, avoid that place like you would the plague!!  There might be some "strange goings on" going on there and YOU would be the victim.

Nope, no banjos. Did hear what I thought was the sound of a pig squealing, though. :)

Wait until this happens to you at a VW dealership. When I had my shop in the 70s/80s , we use to do all the service work on air-cools for the dealer. And if you can belive this ,we did the work on their own Rabbit PU service truck. We even rebuilt the tranny in this P.U.  We also did all the warranty work on the VW re-call for replacing the valve stem seals due to heavy oil use. VWOA would then remburse us. What kind of deal is this ?  Our regular customers loved it when they would come to our shop and see the red P.U. truck with TRI-STATE VW plastered all over It.  HA !
    Press On !!
