I had to take back roads to Sams for a battery today. My better half woke me up just before the sun and said "my car won't start. You have to take me to work." she works again tomorrow and we ain't doing that two days in a row. I doubt I could teach her to drive a stick over night either

On a side note, Sams had a battery for $69.99 with 36 MO warranty.

That's good for a battery,  most are 80 or more

That's a good price if you already have a Sam's membership.

I put a Duralast battery in my S-10.  I don't remember what it cost, but it was expensive.  That and a tank of gas tripled the value of the truck.  It had a three year free replacement/ and either a 5 or 7 year pro-rated warranty (can't remember right off hand).

It went bad a few weeks ago.  It was 3 years, 6 months old.   >:(  Got $41 credit on the pro-rated warranty and still had to pay over $50 for the replacement.

It's cheaper than a car payment! We are fortunate that my father has us on his business account, so the membership didn't cost me anything. I figured it was about as good a price as I'd find and the warranty is half bad, so I'll roll with it
