60 Second Epoxy

« on: July 01, 2012, 06:33:11 PM »
Yesterday the mirror on the passenger side of my S-10 turned loose from the piece of plastic it had been glued to for the past 28 years.  I bought some "60 Second Epoxy" from O'Reilly's to stick it back on with.  This is one of those two part epoxys you squirt into a tray and mix, then smear it on whatevery you need to stick together.  I've used it before for lots of stuff.  It will stick to just about any material and forms a super strong bond.  Squirt it in the tray, quickly stir it with a popcycle stick, smear it on the part, stick it together and hold if for a few seconds and you've got a bond that will hold up to just about anything you throw at it.

But just so you'll know . . . if it's over 100 degrees outside, it starts to set as soon as you start mixing it!  Either wait for cooler weather or WORK REALLY FAST!   ;D

It hardened before I had a chance to get my fingers in it!   ;D
