'86 Dodge pu brake question

« on: May 07, 2013, 11:10:55 AM »
Where in the heck is the brake pressure metering valve on a '86 Dodge D250 PU. ?   Rick (R&M) put front cali/pads on about a year ago and told me that I might have to replace this metering valve down the road. He clean it out. Whats happening now is the rear brakes lock up until you drive just a little bit. If you let it sit for a hour they will lock up again. I park it without the emergency brake applied and it rolls free until I just touch the brake pedal. Heck! it may be just getting sticky stuff on the shoes. It doesn't get driven that much. I don't see fluid leaks. The truck just has 67,000 K. and the rear drums have never been off.  If anybody want to take this job on I'll will gladly pay as I can't do this stuff anymore. I just rather have someone I know and trust to do the job.

might be a good investment to buy a clymer's manual for it. Will at least show you what the inside of stuff looks like before you tear into it.
~$26.00.

Clymer appears to have stopped making manuals for cars and trucks. Only motorcycles, boats, tractors etc. Chilton still does.

I was not offering to fix it necessarily, but I'd try!!!

Either way, I'll fix it and get rid of the problem or I'll destroy it in the process and get rid of the problem!

I guess that means you are not on "Angies List".  We could do it this way. Bring me $5,000 and I will let you attempt to fix the truck. If it corrects my problem , I will give you the $5,000 back plus your fee. If you screw it up I will give you the title to the truck but I keep the $5,000. That should give you the incentive to do the "job" correctly   :o :o         Johnstein's  theory

Brain and Crystal stopped by the cruise in Friday evening and Brian and I were compairing battle scars.  Seems he and Nick were working on something a couple of months back and Nick had to get his dad had to do some stitch work on Brian.   :o  It seems like it's the people who hang out with Nick that end up on the cutting edge!   ;D

I must have been lucky. A little birdy must have told me to stand way back when Nick came over to get the VW "stuff' I gave him. He loaded and I watched from a distance. I'm glad he doesn't deal in DR Bush Hogs. Just think what he could do to the Syrian Army . ;) ;D
