You Can Buy ANYTHING on eBay -- Version 5.0

« Reply #15 on: May 30, 2004, 11:03:47 PM »
David,

I'll give you a call in the next couple of days.  I'm not really looking for anything in particular . . . I just keep my eyes peeled for any type of locksmith tools/supplies at bargin prices.  If you have anything VW related (keys (blanks or used), locks and/or lock parts, code keys, code books, Curtis Clipper cams/carrages, etc.) I'd be VERY interested in those.  I'd also be very interested in a better key machine than the one I have and any automotive door opening tools and/or books you might have.

I'm enrolled in a locksmith course, but right now it's more of an extension of my VW hobby than anything else . . . but with enough of the right tools and information, it might turn into more than that someday.

Since the original auction that I started this thread about no longer shows on eBays web site, it needs some explaining if you didn't see it.  It was an auction for a real "geeky" looking kid who claimed to be a locksmith trying to auction off a date with himself.  I thought it was hilarious and nearly passed out from laughing.  I finally stopped laughing and got myself together . . . and THEN I realized it was even funnier than I thought . . . several people had actually placed bids!   :D

Zen, I think you are in luck. I have a lot of what you are looking for I think. We have blanks for a lot of foreign cars , including VW , code books, hand cutters , Curtis stuff and enough blanks for every door in Chattanooga. If you are in locksmith school , I think you would have a field day with this. I know nothing about this stuff to be more knowledgable to tell what we have . You would have to see it to ID what you would be interested in. O`yes ,It would be a bargin. The famly is just interested in cleaning the place out. Do pin sets mean anything to you ? Give me a call soon before this "stuff" ends up in the dump. I would like someone who could use this "stuff" to get it.It would a shame to throw It away.
  Thanks
  David

73 Adventurewagen  in Chattanooga on eBay
I can't pull up the pics at school (apparently they may be pornographic in nature!)  but it's local and they're neat conversions.  Herb, is this the one that was at Bubba's?

No, this isn't that one. The description said the people handling the auction were consignees so the bus might not even be in Chattanooga. I've never seen it that I'm aware of.

The closest thing I've ever seen is a box, similar in design to the trash box in late Bays, that holds a port-a-potty.  It was on a British website on our links page.  I think this one's made to sit on a metal can.  You take it off, put it in the bag, and put the lid on the can.  Kind of a vintage camping toilet, but I've never seen any that came with a Westy.
