Worst oil change in my life

« on: January 17, 2012, 06:48:11 PM »

Son drained oil
installed plug
then I gave him an oil can
He poured some in
Whoa.  I had saved  old anti freeze in it.
We drain the anti freeze out of the crank case
Get the new 2 gallon oil can
Son  is pouring but most of the oil is running done the side into the engine well
We see the oil all over the garage.
I think we are done
I ask if he changed the filter ..nope
the filter is a PITA ... its off
Son  is pulling the waste oil bucket from under the saab
he pulls too fast.  a big slop of waste oil goes all over the floor
I quit.  SC

When I was a teenager (yes, that was a LONG time ago) I was the proud owner of a 1964 GMC 3/4 ton rust bucket.  I decided to change the oil one weekend.  I drove to the local parts store, picked up a filter and 5 quarts of oil.  Drove home, drained the oil, changed the filter, added all 5 quarts of oil THEN saw the drain plug next to the wrench I had used to remove it.  :o  I was home alone and my only transportation was sitting there with no oil in it.  Had to walk two miles to the parts store and get 5 more quarts.   ::)

On the bright side, from that day on there was this one spot in our yard that I didn't have to mow.  It never got dusty there either, no matter how long it had been since it rained. ;)

And now as an adult... you only have to walk two miles to the gas station :)

lmao, what's the point in doing the oil change if you reuse the oil!

He runs it through a coffee filter first before putting it back in to remove the chuncks...

I think this is where the reuse the oil comes from:

And remember, if the women can't find you handsome, they can at least find you handy!
