I do not know if anyone else on here uses Hagerty as the insurance for the old VW's, but the magazine that comes with the membership was very VW loving this time.
I could scan in the articles if any one wants, but there is a splitty on the cover and a fairly long write up on Cars of the Counterculture, as well as a nice write up on a man's rememberances that as a boy he had a Vette, a MGB and a '59 beetle and how he got more girls on dates in the beetle that in the others...
Any way it is a good write up. Hagerty also uses a 1965 Beetle as one of the cars it uses to judge the state of the hobby. They attempt to track all recorded sales of this specific year accross the country to see if the values are up or down. They do this with several different makes and models. It is interesting to see what they picked to base the #'s on. It isn't the flashy muscle cars and sports cars only.
Just an FYI if you have the mag and haven't read it yet. Just finished mine on my break. -Good read.
