Homer the Super Bus (a type 1 powered 73 transporter) is my daily driver. My wife's daily driver is a 75 Super Beetle Convertible. Our "back up" transportation is a 74 Super Beetle. I've got several project cars (as in junkers that will probably never get fixed) including a 63 Beetle, a 68 Autostick Beetle, a 69 Beetle, a 73 Beetle, and a 74 Sun Bug edition Super Beetle.
I do own a "real car" (as non-VW enthusiast like to call them) . . . I've got a nice 88 Buick Reatta sitting in the garage. It's waiting on me to win the lottery so I can have the power brake booster rebuilt . . . haven't driven it in almost 2 years now. Until I got into VW's, every daily driver I had ever owned was a GM product . . . with the exception of my first car, a 64 Buick, all of them were Chevys. One of the Chevys had a rear mounted air-cooled engine . . .
