I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 295W from Tiger Direct.  The list price was $199, but they had a $120 "instant savings" special and very limited quantities.  I got it for $79.99.  With tax and shipping it was $88.79.  A couple of hours after I ordered mine, it showed them as "only avalible in store."

The Customer Rating was 4.7 out of 5 stars.  The screen is smaller than I would like (3.5") and it doesn't have free lifetime maps but it's got a lot of "extras" like WiFi connectivity (with web browser and e-mail), a 3 MP camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging and MP3 player.  At least if I get lost, I can make a picture and when I find a WiFi hotspot, I can show everyone where I was!   ;D

Hmmmm...I remember when someone's GPS misguided him on the way to Indian Boundry and he took a movie of the van going up the mountain so when he was found, we'd know what happened to him...no GPS service...no cell service...

Anyone else remember that????   ;D

(this is molly) The GPS I received for Christmas did come with free maps for life but its also an upper end model. I would say look on Garmin and TOMTOMs website and see which one you like best. Best buy does run sales on those things all the time so I would watch their ads and just go in there and ask someone about it. They can be helpful when they wanna be haha.

The Garmin arrived in the mail Saturday afternoon.  I got it charged up, went to Garmin's web site and updated the software and downloaded and installed the latest map.  So far I've used it once and it got me from my house to McDonalds and back without a hitch.  Of course, my house and McDonalds are on the same street and less than 2 miles apart, but it seems to work pretty good.  I'll print out directions from googlemaps and take a map with me as a back up.  If all else fails, I can always stop and ask for directions.  Somehow I have a feeling that I'm gonn'a get lost anyway . . .

I use TomTom with my iPhone. Works better than my Garmin did, so I gave it away.
