All's I can say is Holy Crap..........I started to read Slow Starter topic to see what the Triangle thingy was all about. (since I'm at home sick with kidney stones). So far I have found out nothing about the triangle , but I have found out how nutty a few of you guys are down there, especially Smelly Cat.
Frank gets sprayed with gas, SC, your killing me, you tied a lawnmower to your bumper and use the gas tank for the source of gas, then the line over the car..........ingenious.
Also the 70 superbeetle. Does the car have a vehicle ID plate that says Made in Mexico? Well, just the other day I came across and one of our members bought a 1970 Beetle, Vin # starting with 110 on the frame under the seat and the body tag. It had pre 65 doors along with pre 65 dash and interior, it had 1970 fenders along with 70 hood and deck lid (aprons to match. The gas tank was in the trunk right side fill and had no filler door. Also, the smae frame stamped as a 1970 is a swing arm, five lug, kingpin suspension. The motor is a 1500 single port.
Digging up some information I found out that when the Mexico plant was going down the crapper. They threw anything together down there just to get rid of it out of the factory.
I will continue to read this post and find out what the Triangle is since I have some spare time as I wait until I shoot out this little porkypine rock.

from what I understand is that the Triangle is Lafayette, but don't understand why it is called the triangle unless it is the phone prefix of 666 for this town!
Are we talking about Macon County or Putnam County? There are two Lafayette's in TN, but in Putnam it only has Lafayette Schoolhouse Road, In Macon County is an actuall town.

I think Lafayette and Ft Oglethorpe are included...

Fort Oglethorpe is in the Triangle? That might explain a few things.

Joe, I don't know what is worse, trying to find out the tale of the Triangle or trying to spit kidney stones
You will meet Smelly Cat if he can get Stuper cranked up. A lot of the cars are on the road thanks to the Kenmore and Maytag old parts Mecca of the South ( The Triangle). You are going to find out that Smelly and others from The Triangle are a super bunch of guys and a blast to be around.  They are what you would call  " Dumb Like Foxes" if you know what I mean. They are masters of clever innovations that go against any known rules of mechancal , Hydraulic and Pyrotecnical
engineering. We allow them to cross the border to come to the B-P's.  After that they have to sneak across under the cover of darkness to come to the meetings and such
You and VWGirl shouldn't waste to much time on the Saga of The Triangle as it burns out to many brain cells
Would you send me your e-mail address as I would like to send you a newspaper article from our local "Rag" that I scanned just for you. It might come in your Junk Mail W/ an attachment. I'm on a Mac so no
virus.
Good luck on your "Rock Tossing" I hope everything works out OK

I don't think I've ever read anything so damn funny as that thread. From using a dryer start button as a relay to crank the engine. Driving around with a loose fuel tank, which is leaking inside of SC car. Turning all the screws in on a carb wondering why it aint working any more. I did figure out that the "Triangle" is Catoosa Co. I find it really hard to read that thread and not bust out laughing, killing my side.

Ft Oglethorpe is not in the "Triangle".   La Fayette is.  I named the area so I can put it anywhere I want to depending on the winds of war. This keeps the Natives confused and easier to control
Joe, Now you see why we have so damn much fun down here. I don't think you will ever read another forum like ours. A lot of other forums are so boring or even vicious and mean hearted  to the point where some people just like to demonstrate their limited vocabulary and intellect by "spouting" every four letter word know to man. I was in the Navy so I know about that but even I really get tired of reading them. Not a lot of that trash here. We get silly sometimes but we really do have fun with our forum. Nobody is safe here from getting kidded about things. Its all in fun.
Watch for the scan I'll be sending.
