Whats in a name ?

« on: April 02, 2012, 09:30:50 AM »
Whats with Chevy's choices of car names ? Think about this:  Chevy's name for its famous icon 6 cly engine : The Blue flame 6. ( Buick did have the Fireball 8 cly engine)   The Nova : exploding star. Now the Chevy Volt with the possibility of a battery fire , a recall for the replacement of the 110 v charging cord on the Volt for overheating / fire  taking your house with it.   Now engine fires in the Chevy Cruze while driving . (also in the Mopar Jeep Wrangler)  but get this. I was on the Chevy site and they are coming out with another small car called : Wait for it -------- The Chevy Spark  :o ::)  There was one other Chevy prototype that never went into production that had a mushroom cloud name ,but I can't remember what it was. Government Motor's must have a bunch of pyromaniacs working for them . Maybe Smelly Cat should apply for a position there. ;D ;D
I can't wait for Nascar to start racing electric cars. Just think ---- The Daytona 26 Short Circuit, the Indy 500, the only race that takes 5 days and 250 coffee breaks, charge the batteries, pee stops.

I saw the Chevy Spark up at the Auto Show. It looked like they were marketing it like Scion does (Loud music, all the "tuner" gadgets, simple packages and such). It looked like an econo box with a heavy marketing plan. I was underwhelmed.

But I did get some buttons with the bowtie and "Spark" on them.

The Chevy Spark is actually a Daewoo model.
