Beetle???
all the beetle displays were just the various current models. Last year they had a few beetle concepts and the E-beetle, but this year they were focused on the CrossBlue
Oddly enough, there were not a ton of concepts like in years past. You can tell that most manufacturers are focusing more on designing production ready cars than the concepts. It used to be that EVERY manufacturer had really outlandish designs EVERY YEAR. There were only a handful of pure concepts.
The coolest thing you could really tell from everyone in one room is the current and upcoming trends, like wheel designs. I noticed that all the wheels were switching to a primary spoke with an accent spoke- one company had carbon fiber inserts as accents.

Similarly, Denso was there, which designs automotive technologies. They were displaying their new stuff like white line sensors that alert you if you drift out of your lane or sleepy eye waker uppers that watch your eyes and alert you if you doze off. Some of the newest was car-to-car talking that would alert you/apply brakes if you were about to hit another car (that had the device) or would alert you to cross traffic that wasn't stopping. One step closer to automated riding! Then you walk around and everyone is talking about "their" new technology that does all the stuff that the Denso guy just explained to you. Apparently all manufacturers buy their gadgets from Denso and put their own twist on them.
