Last night about midnight I finished up with the electrical system and went for a test drive with Carla . . . she did great considering she had never driven a bus before and hasn't driven a stick shift of any kind in over a year.
After our test drive, she and several friends spent a half hour or so with orange and white glass chalk getting it ready. At nearly 1 A.M. everyone headed home and we finally got to bed. This morning between 7:00 and 7:30, seven senior girls wearing tie-died shirts (most of them Volks Folks shirts that Carla loaned them) showed up and piled in Homer and headed off for their last day of High School. I followed them over "just in case." Most of the senior class was gathered in the parking lot when the got there . . . I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard "That is SO COOL!"
I had thought that they would drive it to school, come straight home afterwards and get their "real" cars . . . but about 5:30 I was coming home from work and passed them still cruising through town in Homer with big smiles plastered all over their faces.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I get the film developed.
