Zen is in charge of rounding them up. He's trying to contact Kathy with the SEWV club and she can spread the word to the rest of the members.

And if STF would ever rise from the dead, we could invite them directly.

I could also post something on the front page of the website.

Well, if there were a "good" way to contact most of the folks involved in the Southeastern VW scene, there wouldn't be a need for this forum . . .

One of the reasons that there are so many active clubs and so many shows in the region is for the last few years we've all been well connected through the Southeastern VW Forum.  Whether this forum takes over or Shoptalk gets their stuff together, or another forum somewhere else pops up to take it's place . . . VW Enthusiast in the southeast need a place to gather and talk online.  This may or may not work out here . . . but at least we tried.

Yep. And if this fizzles out and our efforts are dashed, I'll make sure we get all of our investment capital back. Several of us just decided that we have the facilities to spare, so we wanted to offer a service to the southeastern VW community.

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I am yearning to own a VW Bug of the 60's era. Must be related to the fact that I turned 60 a few months back.  I wanted one when I was in college but my dad nixed the request.  I sure would appreciate suggestions from vintage VW owners as to how to get started. Thanks.

Hey, This all depends on your bank account. If you are not into serious restoration work or not in a area to get things done, I would suggest finding a car already "up and running" from someone who wouldn`t lead you down "The Garden Path", but for God sake have it checked out before you buy. There is a lot of good looking junk out there for big bucks that I wouldn`t get near for fear of Tetnus. These little guys price wise are getting higher and higher and if you buy a "rolling compost pile" you could end up with enough funds invested that you could have bought a Mercedes-Benz. Just be careful. Where are you by the way ?
