WARNING ROAD DEBRIS

« on: October 09, 2012, 12:57:14 PM »
I'm sure many of you have already heard of it, but I wasn't fully aware of the situation until I did some looking around today.

Lots of people are complaining of two flat tires on their right side with tiny "ice pick holes" but no debris in them. It looks like its been a pretty big deal and has caused lots of damage.

It would probably be best to avoid the Dodds Avenue and Rossville Blvd areas for a while.

One of many news stories: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2012/oct/09/chattanooga-police-seek-source-of-flattened-tires/

They got two tires on one of our department manager's SUV yesterday while she was at the hostpital with her mom.  I "think" she said she was at Erlanger.

Alice (who works at the PD) said there have been around two hundred complaints! The gist is that there is nothing left in the tires and no evidence left at the scene. My guess is that somebody's got a home-made "tack strip" they're leaving out. I can't believe nobody's seen this thing in the road ahead of time! Stay out of the right lane and watch for anything near the curb.
