VW to use chrysler drive trains in new van?

Yo,  Sat paper,  it be saying....(I'm trying out some of my gangster grammer)
VW to use Chrysler body and drive trains in new van.  Mayday!  Mayday!
I'm not a big fan of present day Mopar drive trains.   I did love the Slant 6 and  transmission put in Valiants back in the day.

Is is bad form to be diss'n  VW so soon after the engagement with Chatt?   Maybe we need to make a code  when being critical.    I'll use  XY  instead of VW when  accenting  the negative.    SC

A VW with a Chrysler drivetrain means I can own one less car and still say I have both!

Rick, You are going to have to work on those Mopar powered vans. What would be your choice,   Hemi or a 2.0 Hemorrhoid ?

I would have preferred the ugly concept Microbus to go in production than a Chrysler/VW van. At least they won't be making those things at the plant in Chattanooga (as far as we know anyways).

And here it is, the 2009 VW Routan. It looks...like a Chrysler with a VW badge. The article does, however, hint that the VW plant in Chattanooga may give Volkswagen a new option for exploring production of a new microbus for the US market, but we will have to wait and see.

Here's another article on the supposed rumor going around that the Chattanooga plant may also produce a version of the old microbus concept vehicle that was making the rounds back in 2001.
