It was on a cable channel a couple of years ago. That was the only time I had ever seen or heard of it. It was a really lame movie. It had a good plot and a lot of well known actors . . . but it was really hard to follow. It looked was like the cast and crew were on drugs. It was released in 1969 . . . so maybe they were.
It has been released on DVD and I just bought a "veiwed one time" copy off eBay. I'll let you borrow it when I get it. There are (in my opinion) only two good scenes in the whole movie . . . both of them involve a KDF Wagen.
Here's a description of the movie I found on the internet:
Unusual WWII story from Sydney Pollack starring Burt Lancaster as a one-eyed U.S. Army major who leads a squad of misfit soldiers to an art-filled Belgian castle for some rest and relaxation. But the Americans are soon forced into helping the castle's owner, a count, when the Nazis attack. Peter Falk, Jean-Pierre Aumont, Al Freeman, Jr., and Bruce Dern also star. 107 min.
