VW Drops the "New Microbus"

« on: May 20, 2004, 06:05:35 PM »
According to a post on http://www.vwvortex.com, VW is dropping the Microbus Concept from production plans.  They still plan on producing some type of van with retro-styling by 2007, but it won't be the Microbus.  I guess they finally figured out that no matter what kind of spin they put on it trying to market it, they couldn't argue with the fact that that was one BUTT-UGLY van!

I wonder what pushed them over the edge to NOT produce this van.

You're absolutely right Zen, it is definately BUTT-UGLY!!

I wonder if all of the toys produced will go up in value or drop off the sheet.

Will my Barbie Bus be worthless?

My vision isn't too good, so I was able to buy a few Matchbox versions of it . . . but I could see the Barbie version and couldn't force myself to put one in the buggy!  Since I don't have one, it'll probably be worth a small fortune very soon.   :p

Butt -ugly indeed. But I remember the first beetle I ever looked at. Good gosh almighty!!!!! Nobody in their right mind would ever consider riding in one much less buy one.Little did I know that the very next year I would be packed in the very same car with three other dudes, the driver at 250pd , 6feet tall, and the rest of us (thank God) skinny dudes. We had about 200pds of muzzle loading rifles tied on the luggage rack on top of the car, All our shooting supplies. camping stuff.cooking things, clothes, a 8x10 tent. We were on our way to Friendship Ind. from Chattanooga to compete in the national muzzle loading championships. I hurt just thinking about that trip. But we made it with no protest ,at least from that little car. We were there a week. I bet we didn`t see 4th gear half time. I was a convert on the spot despite not being able to walk upright for a few days. This little car was a 1952 split window standard bug. mech.brakes, 4speed crash box. The man upstairs was riding with us on that trip

There was an error while liking
