The last of the air cooled Beetles rolled of the assembly line in Mexico 9 years ago today (June 30, 2003). It had a hometown connection . . . it, along with the other 2999 Final Edition Beetles sported wide whitewall tires made by Coker Tire of Chattanooga.

And 38 years ago today, the last Beetle rolled off the assembly line in Wolfsburg.
