The Scirocco is no more.

« on: November 08, 2006, 09:16:31 PM »
Right before 8:00 this morning, I was getting of I-75 at exit 333 to go to school and got rear-ended by the person behind me.  I was hit pretty dang hard.  I was spun back out in the interstate facing the wrong direction in the middle line traffic.  Luckily I was not hit by any other vehicles.  My seat is tilted downwards and backwards toward the left and even the fuse fell down from its mounting.

I went the the hospital around noon just to be safe since my back and neck were pretty sore. They took some x-rays and found no bone damage, so I'll just be sore for a couple of days.

The Scirocco, in my thinking at least, will probably get totaled.   At least it will take massive repair work to get fixed; however, i'll let the pictures speak fro themselves.

My thinking on it... the driver who hit Matt needs to have some serious fines or something posted against him, mainly because for him to hit Matt hard enough to do all the damage to the Scirroco that it did AND knock him back out into the freeway itself... they had to be flying. And as far as I'm concerned, if I was a police officer, that would second degree attempted vehicular manslaughter. If they don't have that, they should; maybe that would teach them. Matt could have died all because some moron was in a hurry they shouldn't have been in.

Matt, Very glad you didn't get "banged" up in the accident.
Here is your chance to out do Kyle.  Find youselve a Scirocco crunched in the front end, cut both car in half and weld the good halfs together leaving as much lenght as you can. Just think ,a 4-door Scirocco.  You could call it a Sciroccorocco. Don't you just hate a smart-ass

Or . . . you could find another one that is crunched in the rear, cut both front halves off and weld the together.  Not only would have 4 doors, but you would have two drive trains and you would never have to back into or out of a parking space!

For God's sake, don't give Zen that car...I swear he'll actually try to do it.
I know Kyle's thinking about it.
Hey, David, help me locate another Dasher and we'll have us an 8-door version riunning around.  We could call it a... No, wait this is great....a Creeper.
Actually, I think that name is more fitting anyway, as I have never once know mine to "dash" any damned where.

I "dashed" past a Dasher in my bus yesterday on Amnicola Highway.  Not that I like them or anything, but this one looked like a well maintained vehicle.
Am I wrong, or was there a Fox wagon?  That's what I thought this Dasher was until I got up on it and was passing it.

Yes, you would be correct, there was a Fox wagon as well as 2 and 4-door sedan models.  The wagon was 2-door...Dashers were offered in 2 and four door models, mine having 4 doors.  The fox wagon has a longer roof line with a near vertical rear hatch where the Dasher has a long, sloping rear hatch the size of North Dakota, quite noticeable when the gas support struts give out and you have to hold it up by hand.
Anyway, I guess you have debunked the old myth that a bus can't pass anything on the road.  Those skeptics have never driven a Dasher.
