Eight years ago today on June 30 2003, the final Beetle (21,529,464th) rolled off the assembly line in Puebla, Mexico. It was serenaded by a Mariachi band and then taken away to the VW factory in Wolfsburg, Germany.

. . . and 37 years ago tomorrow the last one built in Wolfsburg (11,916,519) rolled off the assembly line.
