I see that there is some kinda VW Campout in Sweetwater Tn in the Oak Grove Campground on the weekend of your show. Can anybody tell me about this? I will have a truck camper with me. Is this a more preferred place to camp than Camp Jordan? My sister lives in Riceville so I know I will be stopping there too!

Don't know about the Sweetwater thing.  Sweetwater looks to be about 60-65 miles north of us on I-75.  Don't have a clue where the camp ground is .   You can camp here as well in the grassy fields as far as I know.  Jordan has some trees and we will have plenty of potties and a concession stand. no hook- up's. The place is big.
Check the photos on our site of pass BP's to get a better picture of Camp Jordan.  Nice place to have a show and plenty "eaterys" off  site if you are so inclined.
Looks like Riceville is about half way between Chatt. and Sweetwater.
If I find out anything different ,I'll let you know.

On the site it says no non-vw camping at the show grounds but there is hook-ups at the campground area of Camp Jordan. I guess this is where I registered for. Wife and I were into Boy Scouting for many years and were kinda burnt out on tent camping so we bought a nice slide-in camper that fits in the back of our truck. This allows us to be able to pull a trailer too. So , that is how were coming down.
It's easy to sit back and bad talk the trailer queens when the bed they're sleeping in is 20 minutes away. The way I see it. I have a comfortable ride to and from. A nice get-away for the wife and I, plus more ammenities than a hotel room has to offer at a lot cheaper price. I have a queen bed, a twin bed/kitchen table, a fridge, a two burner stove, a kitchen sink,a microwave, port-a-pot, and a roof antenna with booster, Oh and a furnace and an airconditioner.
Won't see me hanging up my sleeping bag on a clothesline to dry after a night of rain.
Usually trailer queens are pulled in an enclosed car trailer too. Mine is open and the car gets just as dirty as if you were driving it if its raining out!
The way I see it is that if anybody doesnt like the way I travel, they're just jealous. 8)

I'm no final authority on the "non-VW" camping on the show site, but if you do want full hookups, the RV sites just a Olympian's stone's throw from the show are your best bet.  I'm pretty sure the stipulation on the "non-VW" camping is essentially referring to RVs and pull-behind pop-ups.

We should have re-worded the camping stuff in the flyer this year . . . but everyone was busy and we were running out time so I think it just got copied and pasted from last year.  In the past, camping space was limited.  The field we rent at Camp Jordan is about 7 acres (according to Camp Jordan . . . I think it's more like 4).  By the time we put 200 show cars and 50 vendors in the field and factored in the drainage ditch, the stage, kitchen, playground, porta-potties, etc. it didn't leave us a lot of room for camping . . . so we tried to it to buses, tents, and small pop-up campers.  This year is different.  We are moving the show cars and vendors out on the parking lot and this frees up a LOT of room in the field.  I don't think camping space will be an issue.  If space does become an issue, we will have to send any large RVs down to the RV area.  Camp Jordan's RV parking area will hold 300 RVs.  Those spaces are not "on the show grounds" but they are within walking distance and have full hook-ups.
