I just had sustained 69-70-MPH winds blow though my "hood " for about 15 min. No apparent damage .  I don't know why.  MAN !! What a noise.  I hope everybody is OK.
I understand there is more to come later today. Everybody stay safe.

Ok for now. It passed through Ringgold and they got us all into one of the inner hallways. I've seen some of the damage in Chattanooga, lots of trees down and stuff.

South Terrace is blocked. Looks like a tree might have fallen on a car driving through.

Power went out at work and boss said trees were down around his house so we left. My house looks to be good other than debris in the yard.

Megan said they were calling "Code Black" at her work which means tornados or natural disasters I think.

Strong winds and a pounding rain at work.  Scary, but no real damage.  Killed the power, we gave up the ghost after several hours of waiting, with the impending stuff still on the way... headed up the mountain.  Sky starting to change color now.... here we go again.   ;D

I headed out to my Dr. visit this morning after things calmed down.  From Rossville on, most of the traffic lights were out, trees were down everywhere . . . I had to make about 20 detours . . . Dodds Ave. was blocked by a big tree about a half block from Rossville Blvd.  The tin roof of Brainard Lumber's big pole barn where they store lumber was peaIed back like a half open can of sardines.  I saw trees uprootted, ltrees broke in half and split everywhere . . . on top of cars, on top of houses across the roads.  I even saw a garage roof sitting almost on the ground with the rear half of a fairly new full size car sticking out from under it. The rear part of the roof of the car was almost on the floor.

And the talk is the NEXT round of storms in where the bad weather is.

The worst I saw was a man driving down Brainerd Rd right past the tunnels in a tan/brown s-10 with lumber hanging out the back!!!! ;D

BOTH!!!! ;)

It was about 12-1ish I can't recall but I was going to get lunch for my parents. They were doing a hair transplant and lost power. Luckily they had a generator for his office, but everyone else went home and I happened to stop by. I got stuck with going to grab lunch...what a pain in the butt that was with all the lights out and traffic backed up everywhere...

OK, that would have been the second time.  You missed me the first time I came through the tunnel!  That's a good thing.  I was trying to get the surgeon's office on E. 3rd Sreet for an 11:30 appointment.  Kept getting turned around due to trees down and traffic jams . . . ended up going through the tunnel making a U-turn and going right back through the other way.  I think I might of cut a couple of cars and a transfer truck off, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to wait for those 40 cars in front of me to get through the intersection with the light out.  I left home 45 min. early and was 5 min. late for my appointment.

We were ok until a few hours ago and then we lost power and my cell phone can't text or make a call. Made it to work where we have internet and generator power.

Ringgold got hit pretty hard, they set up an emergency center at the high school. There may or may not be a Food Lion anymore and LOTS of power lines and light poles were down.

Gonna sit tight for a while. Everyone stay safe B)

I've heard that McDonalds, Waffle House, Ruby Tuesdays and a gas station in Ringgold were leveled and at least two trucks were flipped over on I-75 at the Ringgold exit.  There were also reports of several houses damaged or destroyed on Cherokee Valley Road . . . that's just over the ridge from Kyle's place. I couldn't get Kim or Matt on their cell phones, so I called Kyle to see if he had heard from them.  He's on his way home from a trip to TX and won't be home until tomorrow afternoon, but he said he's talked to them and alll of 'em or OK . . . but it sounds like Kyles property got hit HARD.  Lot's of trees down, a porch destroyed, etc.  Really won't know the extent of the damage 'til the sun comes up.

Most of Alabama Hwy was destroyed. BP, McD's, a 3 story hotel collapsed, Taco Bell, Shell, etc. I'm at the RTC office on 6203 Alabama Hwy. Not very far from Cherokee Valley. I hope the Guthries are ok.

7 Dead and about 30 hospitalized from the Ringgold area. 10 -12 business destroyed.  Lots of damage to Ringgold High School . . . a wing of Ringgold Middle School is "missing."  This all happened at/just after dark.  Sun up is about to reveal the full extent of the damage there.  It's bad.
