They also took a good 1600 single port engine that just needed new push rod tubes and the heads torqued down (probably scrapped it too

), a junk 1.6 Mazda engine, an antique 12 ton cast iron railroad jack, a set of Cresent brand ratchets/sockets/screwdrivers/wrenches, a small tool box full of misc. tools, a soft sided tool pouch full of carpentry tools, a Skil saw with a laser guide, a 3 gallon air compressor (purchased in April), a Skil 18V cordless drill (purchased in April), a 10 X 10 First-Up canopy, a 9 X 9 dining canopy, 2 tents, several folding chairs, a set of rope lights for the First-Up, an Ilco Mini-Mite key machine, and a 1000 Watt inverter.
They picked the junk Mazda engine up off the ground, but didn't bother the good Chevy in-line 6 that weighs two or three times more . . . and it was hanging from a 2 ton cherry picker. They also didn't take roll around engine stand that was sitting right beside it. My single wheel trailer with my Beetle kiddie car strapped to it was still there, but someone had loosened all the straps . . . they hadn't removed them, just loosened them. They took all the tents and chairs out of Homer, but left a Coleman lantern that was still in the box, a tabletop gas grill and a folding camp table.
When I met with the county police, they told me that about a week and half ago there was a rash of similar thefts in that area. I'm confident the theives will eventually be caught, but I doubt any of my stuff will ever be recovered. Of all the items taken, key blanks will be the hardest to replace.
