I know Ice Hockey isn't exactly the thing you would expect to see on a VW forum, however there is a slight connection.
The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup this year and everyone associated with the team gets to have the trophy for a day. Well, one of the local establishments here in Burlington got it for a couple of hours because the owners nephew is one of the teams managers. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see such a prestigious trophy so I grabbed my hat and went. Well the hat I grabbed was my Volks Folks hat and not only did I have my picture taken with Stanley in my Volks Folks hat but unknown to me our papers photographer took a photo of the cup that had me in it and it was the front page photo the next day! Of course you can't tell it is a Volks Folks hat but I know and now you know and I just wanted to share - or maybe gloat! Of course even though I got to touch it I get a far greater thrill everytime I touch my VW! :lol:

Next thing you know Jamaica will have a bobsled team!

I have a picture like that of my son and his family when the Tampa Bay Lightening won the previous Stanley Cup.  They are big hockey fans and saw them win the Cup in Tampa.  Apparently the South has what it takes to win!!!
