Snow!

Anyone get out and play in it? I took the Audi out a little and had no problem getting around. I had to stop and help push a lady's minivan out of the road cause it wouldn't climb the hill. Then I climbed it just fine.

Homer said "What's the big deal with a little snow?  I can sit here in it just as good as I can rain or sunshine!"    ;D

My saab pulled all the hill.     Quite a lot of folks parked who can't climb hills

I slid around on the way home but made it to the house in 30 minutes. I went and checked on a car that went off the interstate and was mostly out of sight. No body was there. Then Megan and I walked over to East Brainerd road to get some cappuccino. There was a bunch of ice in front of Hullco and Express Rx. We stood and watched for a while while a big gravel truck got stuck and turned the whole place into a sheet of ice. The cops finally told him to park and they proceeded to push each car up that hill one by one. I helped with a few before walking back home. We came back and the cars had only moved about 100 feet. I got a sweet video of a guy on a motorcycle riding by  :o :o ::) ::) He seemed to be making it fine! Finally, after pushing some more cars, the sand truck showed up and everyone passed with ease. Cops left. We left. We came home to cook dinner and realized we were out of milk and eggs (plenty of bread though!). My sister had walked to Target so we asked if they had what we needed and then we headed over. Cheddars still had a wait. Back home cooking dinner now!  8)

We got told to leave school around 11:15, while 70 or 80 kids were still waiting on rides or busses. I had taken the E350, just in case. Not God's gift in the snow, but it has good tires and the 3 tons with relatively narrow tires actually help grip somewhat. So, other than some wheelspin from a start and a little power-on oversteer, no problems (and kind of amusing, too). I don't think I'll be going anywhere today, though. It's uphill in every direction.

Oh yeah, and my sister let me in on a secret for the milk while we were at Target. Organic Milk is expensive, almost twice the cost of normal milk. But take a look at the expiration dates on them next time. That $4+ half gallon lasts a month longer. We might actually finish this jug before it goes bad!!

How has everyone survived this round?

We have a significant amount of snow over here and it has taken a toll on the tree that took out Trixies windshield. Two large branches have fallen, with one of them teetering on the supply line to our house. We are just waiting for the power to go out but it hasn't yet.

I don't think I will be able to get out for work today... This is nuts!!!!

Yeah. I'm not sure if we are going to have work today. Most of my coworkers live on signal. Anyone know how it is up there?

Here is a photo of what's left of my tree. The one floating branch is actually on my power line. Glad I bought that new chain saw after Christmas!

I did make it in to work today.

He is crazy.
I got here, but I will not make it back up my 1/4 mile driveway...
I did have a blast with the girls, we had the traditional snow ball fights, made snowmen, then had some snow cream.
Then we made an IGLOO!
A real full functional igloo that was big enough for me to get into or all 3 of the older girls.
We also made a Luge track down the middle of my driveway this morning, ~80' with 10" banked sides and a track down the center like ice after a dozen runs... Also had a HUGE snow pile at the end to stop you from going into the woods...
It was a blast.
I was out so long I have one of those sinus headaches...
All in all I made memories with the girls and checked off a bucket list item (Igloo).
-good day.
