Sneak Peek!!

« on: July 17, 2008, 08:38:34 PM »

As you can see, its almost done!

I need a few parts and maybe youall can help me with this. before I can install the motor, I still need:

1: low pressure electric fuel pump. since I upgraded to a 2.0, this late 70's block does not have a mechanical pump bracket, so I need a low pressure electric pump to run with my carb setup.

2: new type 4 motor mounts. I know noone here probably has any, but I thought I would ask before ordering.

3: GOOD WORKING CONDITION thermostat from either a type 4 case or a late 70's bug thermostat.(since the late model bug thermostat can be converted to work with my motor) The thermostat on my old case has expanded fully so its no longer functional. I also figured maybe David or someone has some old unusable cases sitting around with maybe a good thermostat on one of them.

4: I DESPERATELY need someone with welding skills to put in a new battery tray while the motor is out. I already have the new one ready to go on.

WONT BE LONG NOW....  8)

Nope !  I have no thermostat. Where did the long block come from ?
You are looking good so far.  Good luck !!
As far as the pump goes, I like the little "Facet" pump although they can be a bit noisy if you don't mount them on rubber or something like that. I never have had any trouble with them. There are others.
