Signal Mtn Marching Band at unveiling of new Passat

« on: April 20, 2011, 01:17:10 PM »
The Signal Mountain marching Band was very proud to participate in the unveiling of the new Passat before all 1700 employees and corporate executives.  The drum line provided the background as the car was rolled out of the factory.  MacKenzie is on the far left wearing the tenor drums and standing behind a cymbol player.  Another band member, Davis Mills, had his restored bug at the show last weekend.

Awesome.

Wonder how SMMHS got the gig?  Wonder if it has something to do with the number of corporate execs i see in line at the school every morning.

VW contacted UTC's band director to see who they would recommend.  VW was given our name and they contacted our principal to see if we would participate.  In the email we were sent from Dr. McCullough (principal), he added there were currently 15 German families enrolled in our school.

Cool.  And i knew there were quite a few newcomers from out-of-town enrolled there.  Nice to get the reccomendation.  I have enjoyed the heck out of their Christmas concerts.  sad I missed last years.
