SCVF Baseball caps

« on: September 21, 2005, 11:06:21 AM »
The guy that is making the Scenic City Volks Folks hats for us said that 12 of them should be ready on Friday, in time for our campout.  The remaining 12 will come shortly thereafter.  If you want a hat, bring an extra $12 with you to the campout and one can be had.

Disclaimer: Barring any unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, the hats will be at our campout this weekend.

I won't be at the campout but I DO want a cap.
Can we pay the club by pay pal and have it mailed to us?

Well, if you want to send the club payment by PayPal, you can.  Just make sure that the club pays me back for your hat purchase.

Or, you could just send me a check for the hat and I will mail it to you. :thumbs-up:
I don't know how much it would cost to mail...but I am going to find out...surely no more than a few dollars.  Let me find out before sending any money.

I haven't mentioned it in this thread, but for those who haven't read the member's only thread, the patch is leather and the words and images are burned into the leather, then the patch is glued and stitched onto the hat.  Also, "volksfolks.org" is burned into the tightening strap on the rear of the hat.

The hats were not ready on Friday.  I was told that they should be ready on Tuesday.
I still haven't figured out how much to mail.  I'll try tomorrow.

The reason that our hats weren't ready is because the seamstress who sews the patches on was sent over 400 hats this past week.    Our order of 24 was obviously on the bottom of the pile.

Travis if you don't mind I think it would be better to keep the hats seperate and just let folks send you a check with their postage included in it.  We lose on all pay pal transaction their fee to process. :)

I agree.
I "think" I was using a little bit of friendly sarcasm in that post.  Gotta keep things hoppin'.
Yes.  If you want a hat mailed to you, just mail a check to my address in our member information section.  I mailed a deadbolt mechanism to South Dakota today and it only cost me $1.75.  I couldn't get a quote on the hats because I forgot to take a sample with me to the post office, but the deadbolt weighed more than these hats will weigh.
I'm going to guess that at least $1.00 will cover it, but I don't want to guess and overcharge anyone.

Any chance of getting them in different colors? Nice hats either way, just thought I'd ask. How about just the patch for jackets and stuff? Let me know if it's do able I would like to buy a few of the patches and customize up a few things.

I was thinking that if these are as good as I think they will be, maybe we could get some more in all sorts of colors in the future.  As it is right now, the only colors I ordered are the ones in the picture.  The manufacturer of the hats does make them in different colors, but these hats will be as pictured.
I don't know about getting just a patch.  I will inquire about that.  My friend is the one who makes the leather patches...I'm sure we could do that.

The hats are great, don't get me wrong. The patches are really nice,I like the look . I'll take 4 or 5 of them if the price is good. Then I'll put 'em on a blank hat to match my car.
Let me know,Scott

Update: The seamstress is still behind and the hats should be ready Thursday.

If anyone is interested in the future, any style, color, etc. of hat can be ordered from these people at http://www.kcheadwear.com/capsindex.html  We would just have to get an order made up (pick your style and color) in the minimum amount of 24 hats.

My friend said that we can get just  the patches and they should not be more than a few dollars each.  But he also said that they usually don't sell "just the patches" for the exact reason you have mentioned.  As a business, they are in it to sell the hats along with the patch.
He is going to give me a sample keychain made out of the same logo patch.  I'll post a picture of that when I get it.  They should be under $5 each.

I don't think I can get 12 people to order the same color as me. If he'll sell the patches great if not oh well. If he wil I will take 4 of them. It's for 2 hat and jacket combo's. I understand where he's coming from. Just trying to make an honest dollar for himself I guess.
