Sc vs weed wackier

« on: May 29, 2013, 07:13:36 AM »
Gettin all the 2 stroke engines going at the Smelly Manor this weekend
The weed wackier would not start, pulled plug, looked ok, found a loose wire , installed plug, got a few hits,  pull pull pull, what the..  Getting mad,  pulled off plug. Electrode was bent down.  Did I drop it?   I can't remember,  reset plug gap,  reinstalled,  got a few hits.  ,   Pulled plug electrode bent again.  huh?   What's the matter with it.  This is a puzzler.  if you already know answer, say you know, but don't give answer,   I hoping,  I,m not the only one who was vexed by this.  Sc

Check the exhaust port. Make sure a dirt dauber has not made his home there!

I take it that it has run on this plug ?. Did you drop something in the cylinder ? Did a big chunk of carbon break loose in the exhaust port or somewhere and now its sitting on top of the piston ? Try pulling the engine over with the plug removed to see if you feel any resistance at the top of the stroke . Try it upside down and see if something blows out of the plug hole. You could buy a Goat.

The easy option would be to get a shorter reach plug or use a washer to space it out. Oh yeah and check the gas!!!

I ask SC if it ran before on the same  plug thinking maybe he has put a long reach plug in.  Of course he hasn't told me. I had a  guy give me a all most brand new Lawn Boy mower because he replaced the spark plug and it wouldn't hit a lick. Guess what . you guessed right my friend ;D ;D    I never told him what the problem was :-X :-X because he was a real jerk off.

Ya the plug worked last year and works this year,  Bignick pretty much got it right.  The washer fell off the first time I took it out,  so every time I re-gapped,  it came out of the head bent again.  I'm stupid as hell that i did not figure it out myself.  SC
