Say it ain't so - AGAIN?

I consider myself jaded.  I see all the bad ones, and there are a lot of those.  no different than a guy who works on Hondas and will tell you how reliable they really are.

Take a look at Toyota.

I'll keep the Golf till it dies, then buy a Subaru.

And still have the bus, the beetle, and the double cab.   8)

The 2.5L engine in our New Beetle uses a timing chain, not a belt.
Thats good. Maybe they are getting it right for a change .You might ask Grasshopper about chain failures .

Sorry, I thought we in the Club were ones that liked all VW's. Maybe someone who don't like them, should but a cheep-a## Mustang or something. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, so people can have a choice.

Nice..represent. I would choose not to cut up a vw into a rat rawd but thats just me.

According to Jacoby, the next-gen New Beetle may not carry the New Beetle name.

I don't like the New Beetle. Thought it was cute to begin with over a decade ago, but that cuteness wore off quickly.

Not too keen on the newest body style of the Golf either. Nor the Passat or the Jetta. Doesn't mean I hate any of them, just don't appeal to me.

I have bought a "cheap-a$$" Volvo. Love it!

Just like I love my bus.

And I'll take Summer Peach Pie ice cream...please. Two scoops.

^^^ Well put, Travis.

I think that everybody has a right to their own opinion.  I never felt the emotional tie to the new beetle the way that the old ones seem to grab you.  The newest generation GTIs are pretty sweet, I'll pass on the mk5 stuff.

Probably why my water-cooled count is (and has been) 1 and the air-cooled count is at 4.   :D
