Sage Green Mafia - Sign up sheet.

You are encouraged to join the "family".
To be a member you MUST own a VW Bus of any color - as long as it's green. :greenbus:
You must pass the initiation - Change your fuel lines.

If you complete this "hit" (on your wallet), you'll be welcomed into the family.

We await your acceptance of this "invitation" to join "the family".
The secret token of entry is to quote the country of origin and date of manufacture of your fuel hose.  If you are about to say "Empi"-Don't bother is isn't a country, If the country starts with the letters "ch" do not bother.

Homer is a special case.
I am not sure what color he was actually to begin with, but with the doors I'd say welcome aboard.
Now, when was the last time you changed out your hoses?
Do we need to send cousin Guiedo over with the wiffle ball bat for a little persasion?
Welcome to the family -don't disapoint us.
We'll set you up in the "buisness".

Replaced my fuel lines when we swapped the engine back to FI last fall. Used the correct diameter Cohline German hose, reinforced for high PSI and solid style hose clamps. I have all new vent lines too.

And for some protection, I'm also armed with two ABC fire extinguishers, which are also fairly new and inspected regularly. A small one is in the original location strapped to the rear bench seat, but it wouldn't be easy to get to from the driver's seat if a fire broke out. I've got a larger one inside my Westy stool between the front seats, I can get to it much quicker if I need it.

Hot start relay - Because your getaway vehicle should start every time.
Pertronix electronic ignition module - The Don doesn't like it when your points wear and your timing drifts.
VDO Quartz Clock - Being on time is important. You don't want to keep The Don waiting.

Stuff I plan to do once I shake down some more protection money:
H4 headlights - To see cops sooner
Retractable seatbelts Members of the Family come in all shapes and sizes. And it's a pain to unbuckle when you drop your piece on the floor.
CHT gauge - Gotta keep an eye on your head temps when hauling a guy wearing concrete shoes up to the river.

I "think" it was June of '04.  I've got steel brake line inserted into standard fuel hose running from the tank around the back of the engine compartment.  The rubber protect the steel line from vibration and the steel line made it easy to shape the line to fit where I wanted and keep it in place.  From the end of the steel line it's all German braided hose.  Keep in mind that I'm running a Beetle engine with a carb and using a low pressure electric pump.  AND I carry TWO medium size fire extingushers and I know how to use them . . . just don't ask how I learned.

Bus: 76 Westfalia Deluxe owned since '99.

Hoses: US-made non-braided (they'll rot out under that braiding and you'll never see it!), changed a few years ago when I put the dual Dellortos and 76 Porsche 912 heads.

Also a hot-start relay, still wired up even after replacing the starter.

New fire extinguisher in the original clip.

Eberspacher gas heater with VDO auto-start dash timer/clock (rare)
YES, IT WORKS AND YES, ITS SAFE.

A/C with updated compressor and condenser.

You can actually run both at the same time and see who wins!!!

Some other stuff...do I get my gun now?

You have done well my son.  We are going to be sending a SPECIAL delivery - a vintage WWII grease gun, fully auto.  No I am serious a fully auto air powered vintage 1942 Sears hand held grease gun for the stubborn zerks on the front beam. - Enjoy and use with care...
We are setting up a protection system for the local lube oil filter shops, the "gun" might be handy for that...
