Hello to all of you at Scenic City!  I am thinking about having a full restoration done for me rather than buying one.  I need to know who does that in the East Tennessee area.  Any you would recommend? I know many of you have done your restorations.  Any tips?  Thanks!

We have several Folks who are very competent with mechanical problems. Richard Strout has become fantastic in his ability with floor pans and heater channels. As for body and paint work we are lacking here for a person or shop who will do quality work at a reasonable price. Hope this helps.

:?:

Would you consider someone in NW Georgia, about 2 hrs from Chattanooga. If so I would advise you to contact Charles Overton in Tallapoosa, Georgia. His phone number is 770-574-2856. He does excellent body/paint work. He will take the restoration to the level or should I say $$$ you want to invest. He did us a great job!!!

Thanks for the replies!  All info is helpful.  Does anyone know about Bill Abel (Bill's Bug Shop) in Friendsville, TN?  I understand he does good work.  It helps to get feedback from folks like you all if he is known.  He is off 321 near Maryville.  Got a ball-park figure for body, interior and engine (perhaps re-built) would cost?  He begins with the rusting hulk and rebuilds seats and orders all the parts to re-create a bug in the 1960's era that I desire.  I'll seek to contact his customers.  I talked to one already who is pleased with his work but says he works slowly. :?:

I am also interested in finding someone to do some work.  I have a 73 Thing that needs some floor pans and some body work (rust mainly and paint).  Is there anyone in the Chatt. area (I've heard of someone in Soddy, but is there anyone else?)
