I've seen customized Hot Wheels that have been put back into the package so it looks like it came that way from the factory.  I asked someone (Zen?) how they did that and he said there's some chemical they put on the back of the cardboard that soaks through, melts the glue, and dries without a trace.  What is it?????????? :p

Acetone.  AKA - Fingernail polish remover.  But don't buy fingernail polish remover, Acetone is MUCH cheaper.  Same stuff, but a small fancy looking bottle of the nail polish remover can cost twice as much as a pint of acetone.  Anyplace that sells paint (Wal-Mart for example) has it.

Dab it on with a Q-tip.  If you rub it in, it'll smear the writing on the back, so, just dab it . . . but you have to get enough to saturate the cardboard card.  Just do three sides and let it hinge from the other so that when you put it back together the blister will go back exactly where it came from . . . you have to do this because some (not much, but some) of the paper and/or color from the front of the card will stick to the blister.  If you don't put back in the exact same place, it'll stick out like a sore thumb.

Once you've got enough to soak through the cardboard and dissolve the glue, the weight of the car will cause it to drop down . . . remove the car, do your thing to it, put it back, use just a tad of super glue around the blister and carefully drop it back down it place. After practicing on a couple, 99.9% of the people who look at it will never be able to tell it was opened.

Thanks, Zen!  I'm going to do this to a couple of 35 year old M.I.P. Playtapes that came the other day.  Wish me luck!  I won't be too upset if the cardboard falls apart.  After all, music is made to be listened to, not looked at!
